5 hour version?! I quite like the film but always thought it could do with a trimming if anything!

Watched Gone Girl... really well made, acted, directed, good soundtrack, quite creepy... but the plot really falls apart with a modicum of thought. She made too many mistakes to get away with it all. Give me a film which doesn't hide it's nonsensical sensibilities and I'm fine with it... give me something which paints itself as a realistic thriller and it needs to rein in the stupid! I also thought the ending was a bit flat 7/10

That version isn't really a film, it was repackaged as tv mini-series at one point though I think they've since re-released that as some sort of uncut edition of the film.

Haven't any of you read the book? If anything it needs to be expanded as they hardly touch on many things that are mentioned in the book. The full unabridged version not the condensed paperback. Even the author wanted at least six hours.

The bit under Criticism by novelist Buchheim.

That was incredible. Also Beardy makes a nice cameo.

Definitely the definitive version of the film.

Pinocchio and Frozen yesterday, good and not as bad as I'd been lead to believe.

Chronos this morning which was wonderful.

Twilight Saga

It's not as bad they say, it's actually worse. Didn't think that was possible.

There isn't a rating appropriate.

Minus Infinity/10?

I didn't care much for your top two and haven't seen the others which round out the five. I did see Pride today which was brilliant, a fantastically uplifting, funny and moving movie.

I 'acquired' Pride today actually.
I saw it when it was showing in the cinema and loved it. It's one that I think could be top 10, but at the moment I have like 6 films for my 8,9,10 slots.

Out of interest, do you know which cut of Mood Indigo you saw? Or at least how long it was? I hadn't thought much of the fact there were different cuts, but apparently upon reading they are actually very different films, with different elements focussed on. My mate saw the longer directors cut and hated it, whereas I'd seen the shorter UK cut in the cinema and loved it.

Apparently the IMDB Bottom 100 has a new number 1:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4009460/

http://youtu.be/yqG1Hafyhhk

It's Rotten Tomatoes score at the time of writing this is 0% Fresh - first time I've ever seen that happen.

I'm intrigued about whether this movie is actually worse than Santa With Muscles (#70 on the bottom 100), Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (#89) and even the abomination that is Gordon K. Murray's "Santa Claus" (#78)

Might have to look that out at the start of December next year.

Might put it in a double bill with this: http://youtu.be/y_U6RGt8V88
All right, so I MADE a mistake! ONE MISTAKE!
Can't a man start over?! Do I have to keep on PAYING?! HUH?!
Maybe I should make another mistake! ...maybe TWO more!

Saw The Imitation Game today. Loved it.
The entire cast are fantastic, the film remains gripping enough and is well paced so it never feels too long and I was never bored - despite it not being the sort of film I normally enjoy.
Great stuff.

Also saw trailers for obvious Oscar-bait films "Unbroken", "Focus" and "The Theory of Everything". Not that I'm complaining, of course, as they all look intriguing enough for me to want to see them.

Yesterdays watch was The Midnight Meat train. I watched it because it had Vinnie Jones in it. Not my favourite. It had me grimacing at certain things. 5/10 is the max id give it.

I would love to see them have roles in the film. Even as the villains. They are all great fighters so I would happhappily watch be great Sith Jedi.
