Diet coke.

The full sugar stuff makes me teeth feel furry these days.

Same here, "furry teeth" is the perfect way to describe it, too.

Pretty sure we don't have the fighting thread anymore, so anyone else hyped for Pacquiao/Mayweather on Saturday?

I usually don't stay up for these ones cos I lose Sunday to sleeping, but with a bank holiday I'll watch it live. Probably up all night for 12 rounds of Mayweather being boring as fuck as usual, but still.

I can't see it happening, but I hope Manny wins. Mayweather has spent years dodging fighters in their prime to preserve his undefeated status imo, but unfortunately I get the feeling this fight is 4 years too late for Manny.

I won't be bothering. It's the hype that's put me off. Fight Of The Century? It's hardly Ali v Frazier.

But in part because of that, it's one of the most well studied foodstuffs in history, and the conclusions all seem to indicate that it's safe. But personally, I just don't like the taste. I'll stick to real sugar.

Apparently people are causing a bit of a fuss cause Myleen Klass (whoever the fuck that is) used the "vulgar Irish term" gobshite on countdown as an eight letter word. Since when was that an Irish word? Or have I missed something..

You've really never heard anyone call someone else a gobshite before?

I thought gobshite was exclusively Irish?

It's like knob'ead, outside of Manchester nobody really uses it so it's allowed on the BBC.

It was one of the greatest moments in recent Eurovision history when Linda Martin* totally lost it and started screeching at some guy in the audience at the Irish national selection, and called him a gobshite.

No, I have, I just didn't think it was specifically an Irish thing.

Apparently so.. though now I think of it, the only people I can think of that say gobshite are Father Ted characters

Gobshite seems pretty commonly used around here.
