The Anime Thread
Re: The Anime Thread
I'm definitely preferring Parasyte to Tokyo Ghoul so far. I see what you guys mean about being similarly conceptually, though.

Re: The Anime Thread
Parasyte felt like it was going nowhere for the middle of it's first season which made me prefer Tokyo Ghoul when watching it. I didn't give a shit about any of the characters because they pretty much all have 0 personality. The action more than made up for it though and I was happy with the first season overall.
Season Two of Tokyo Ghoul was...err...a mess.
I just finished binge watching Fate/Zero and Fate/Stay Night : Unlimited Blade Works and it's a preeeeetty good modern fantasy thriller! Liking it a lot so far! It's basically League of Legends, the Anime.

Now you have my interest.
Is it Fate/Zero then Fate/Stay Night in that order?

Fate/Zero is a prequel, then Fate/Stay Night is the main series.
However, to avoid confusion watch the current Unlimited Blade Works series. The original show aired in like 2006 and it sucked balls. This is essentially a prequel + reboot.
Re: The Anime Thread
Yeah thought the name sounded familiar.
I'll give em a download

Re: The Anime Thread
Fate/Zero is the better series -- it focuses more on the battles, and the heroes are more defined. Fate/Stay Night is a lot more talky, and is more focused on the main character.

Re: The Anime Thread
Wait, so which do I watch first though? I assume prequel into reboot yeha?
Re: The Anime Thread
Fate/Stay is currently ongoing (second half just started airing a couple of weeks ago), so if you're looking for something to marathon, start with Zero. They're more-or-less standalone series' though, so it doesn't matter too much which order you see them.

Re: The Anime Thread
I thought the characters in Zero were MUCH more compelling, and it was even a really good dub too if thats your sort of thing.
I want a new anime series to get into though, preferably one that isn't running now. I hate waiting for a week to watch one episode of an anime (Fairy Tail being the most annoying offender).

Don't watch Dangan Ronpa. Play the visual novel game it's based off. Infinitely more compelling, honest.
Also, watch all of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. It is currently airing, but there's a good few seasons you'd have to catch up on first. And it's brilliant.
Also, Kaiji is three seasons of awesomely tense high stakes gambling.
...I'll stop plugging the same things repeatedly now.

Re: The Anime Thread
JoJo is on the list
What are Usagi Drop and No Game No Life like?
Out of the list I only saw Black Lagoon, which is a great anime to show to people who don't watch anime, I reckon

Re: The Anime Thread
Oh yeah, Kaiji is amazing, as well as Akagi. Had no idea there was a 3rd season out for Kaiji though. Fuck yeah
EDIT: There isn't a third season of Kaiji out. Why you gotta play with my heart like that broheim
Usagi Drop is er... another girly lovely happy one, No Game No Life is one of them there psychological type things. Two gamers are teleported to a world controlled by games and proceed to rek cunts up with their skills.

Re: The Anime Thread
Usagi Drop's good if you enjoy cutesy slice of life anime. It's about a guy who adopts his deceased grandfather's 5 year old daughter (weird premise, I grant you), but Japan.). Would recommend.
