I worked with someone like that - his dad was the MD and this lad genuinely thought that he was doing the donkey work because he was being groomed for management and had to work in all depts. at the bottom first, when in reality he lost his job at Tesco due to skimming the till and wouldn't be able to work anywhere else!

One of his best moments was one morning when he got a bit disappointed because one of the engineers would hand over their car for the week end, as he thought that, as they were company cars, his dad owned them, and therefore he should be able to use them too...
