The new album is immense. I reckon they are ready for at least a special guest slot, cracking live band too.
Discussion on the 2015 forum about whether they're big enough... Meliora has just charted at 23 in the UK... this year's special guests had recent album charts of 59, 14 and 30 respectively so I'd say they're about the right size.

Re: Ghost
Would rather not have them, they're the metal equivalent of elevator music. The latest album is just as bad as the previous two.

Possibly not although there are some metal riffs here and there. But then I'd argue that Europe and Within Temptation aren't metal either, I certainly think Ghost fit the BOA demographic.

They are closer to Metal than Avantasia, Twisted Sister, Alice Cooper etc.

Death to Power Pop!! It should go down with the sinking ship that is Download festival.
Re: Ghost
Yeah seems okay to have a lighter band like this due to the crossover of fans.
Bands like this are fine to book imo provided there's only 1 or 2 a year, rather than suddenly a load of lighter bands. For example Ghost one year and Volbeat another, but having both of them along with another not typically metal band all in one year would be a bit iffy.

Re: Ghost
Ghost are great and let's be honest this is a metal festival which means it should cover everything from the lightest end of that spectrum right through to the heaviest. As I get older I find I much prefer seeing the more melodic metal bands live as opposed to the extreme stuff. It breaks the day up too, as too much extreme metal makes for a dull festival experience.

Heh. At Wacken, Bloodbath brought Dan Swanö out to do guest vocals. They needn't have bothered. You couldn't tell the difference between him and Nick Holmes.
