Re: watain
Main Stage headliner in waiting without a shadow of doubt and Watain alone would sell me a ticket. Get them on the same day as Behemoth and Venom.

If the rumours from their last appearance are true then I wouldn't expect to see them back in a hurry!

What happened last time? I've heard a few rumours, but it's difficult to separate the fact from the fiction!
On a personal note, I'd be very happy with Watain

Wonderful band provided you stand out of pig's blood range.
Heard a fair few negative rumours concerning local hotels and said pigs blood, and supposedly being dicks at the festival. If anything there is true we mightn't see them again.

Re: watain
The hotel story was one member got plastered, thought one of his crew wasn't letting him into his room, so kicked the door in, only to find a family inside. But I also heard the singer was at the following years festival as a guest, so it can't be that bad.
Anyway, not fussed. They were alright last time, but there was a lot of hype about them generally, in a Kerrang style My-First-Black-Metal-Band, hence the elevated position, and I don't know if they've maintained that to be a headliner or SG.

Re: watain
Erik was most certainly at BOA the year following their performance.
Regardless of Kerrang! coverage or the endless debate from 'Kvltists' about how "4realz" Watain are, there can be no doubt they are currently the most high profile BM band on the planet at this moment. They are also a superb live band with a stage production to match. What more do you need for a band to be a potential headliner?
They finished the 'Lawless Darkness' touring at BOA and could easily do the same for 'The Wild Hunt'.

For the organisers: being able to shift tickets! They may well be 'the biggest black metal band', but in the scheme of things that's not as big as any of the SG's this year, all of whom play bigger venues or longer tours than Watain.
Re: watain
Lol id heard the rumours but still are we not metal? Is this not the stereotypical stories you hear about all the time, im sure at one stage in life we have all been a bit destructive. Hahaaa
i will never be able to answer what you asked of me...... Because something much more interesting just happened on the T.V.!

Nope.
In the SL stage bill, I can get my head around that. I didn't think they worked well during the day on the mainstage and they're certainly not headlining material.

I don't know, they'd make a fairly good antidote to someone like Babymetal or Five Finger Death Punch though I've no idea what slot they'd play given they weren't actually special guests and were playing second last because they wanted darkness and everyone else allowed them to have it.
(made a direct clash with Alcest though

Rumours of behaviour be damned!
Would enjoy seeing them live.

I object to them more than to their music, if that makes sense. Still, it is not for nothing that I refer to them as "Twatstain" and, if it be darkness they desire, then they will find plenty in their own lower intestines, where it seems to me their heads are firmly lodged.

Re: watain
'tis indeed true Watain (Erik in particular) display a level of po-faced seriousness and all this cryptic 'evilness' could be seen as pompous beyond all belief but I still think they're a truly great band and firmly believe they will soon be of a festival headlining status.
