He's not dead, he's just moved into the retirement home for the Immortally Awesome, beneath area 51. Other residents include Elvis, Graham Chapman and Macho Man Randy Savage.

Only 47, suffered a cardiac arrest just before Xmas and massive brain damage as a result :(
