That made me laugh!
Finding a copy of a Conran lamp I have wanted for ages in my new Next Directory for a fraction of the price and a new mirror to die for!
Yes, I am truly sad especially as the two combined will cost as much as a new iPod. I think that will have to wait for Xmas!
What has made you happy today

Digging out the Cyclone and III albums by Vow Wow. It all went a bit downhill after they moved to the UK imo, but those two were great albums.
Was their Tube appearances that got my attention:

That one's dreadful
They moved to the UK after the one's I mentioned, recruited Neil Murray on bass and started to become more commercial with the V album. Helter Skelter followed in 1989.

God, I remember that. I was quite impressed at the time.
I thought Vow Wow had a lot of potential but their lead singer's voice took a bit of getting used to. Pretty nifty guitarist, mind you.
I think there is a version still going in Japan.

I hated my time on the dole, being treated like a complete waster is not
my idea of fun! I always got a proper bollocking off them for some minor
thing. Least I didn't have to go on the 6 month re-training course, I hear
it is just like the Pauline sketch from League of Gentlemen!
Nowhere, but to the black shores of Doom...

I've had two long spells on the dole and they rank among the worst experiences of my life. It's wholly unpleasant waking up at four in the afternoon because you've bugger all to do and knowing you've got bugger all done again. Like you said, it's soul destroying dealing with people looking down their noses at you. Whether it was pity or contempt, only a total dosser could be unaffected by it.
Don't get me started on New Deal.
