Firing this thread back up after almost a year, got a new poll at the top if anyone's interested
Really feeling the Lib Dems this time around, still got a few months to decide though

I like the way the opposition parties are now whingeing about the election after spending the last year whingeing that Theresa May is an unelected Prime Minister.
Make your mind up.
I just hope it's the end of Calamity Corbyn.
And the Scots tell Wee Jimmy Krankie to stick it up her kilt. Now that would be Fandabidozi.

Pretty much all the opposition has put out statements about how hyped they are to win.
Which they obviously won't, but the only whingeing I've seen is because May's reportedly going to refuse debates, which is fair enough.

Well I've seen numerous opposition MPs and Peers on TV today moaning about it, mostly Labour and Libs. Diane Abbott was the funniest, totally contradicting herself yet again.
The official line is obviously going to be one of optimism. But I guarantee that the vast majority are shitting themselves.
I'm a traditional Labour/Liberal voter BTW. But I'll never vote for the Looney Left. Them bastards crippled Liverpool back in the 1980s and they're doing it again now.

I generally don't vote in Westminster elections as none of the major parties run here (NI Conservatives don't really count), but if closer to the time it looks as though Labour or the Lib Dems stand a chance of winning and halting Brexit then I might have to throw out most of my principles and vote DUP.

Wonder if the silent remain majority that people kept espousing about post-referendum will turn up to vote this time around
Wonder how many people who have cold feet on Brexit will pole vault over to Farron's side then

Re: The UK political thread (formerly independence thread)
Usually I'd vote Lib Dem/Labour but as at the moment I couldn't bring myself to vote for either of them. Corbyn's socialist utopia is just not financially sustainable and the Lib Dems have committed themselves to a "reverse Brexit" stance that I completely disagree with. Plus, they've burned me before so screw them.
Can't see anything other than a Tory landslide if I'm honest.

Tory to gain 20-30 new seats, Lib Dems to pick up maybe 10-15 and Labour to lose the most and UKIP to fade into obscurity is all I can see. Maybe just maybe SNP to lose 1 or 2 seats if the other parties are able to twist the election to anything but Brexit north of the boarder as that is where they are weak.

Another one of these political compass quiz things, yeah it's not all that accurate, but i do always seem to get the same results.
As far as my opinions on the election go, Labour are just embarrassing, Lib dems may have had my vote, but they seem determined to make a mess of Brexit....
So it seems the Tories are the only party who don't have policies I am vehemently against, as sad as that sounds, but that feeling doesn't make me want to vote at all.

Fairly unsurprising considering I'm a bleeding heart lefty - Mostly aligned with Labour and Lib Dems, and least with Conservatives, tho there's a bit of overlap
EDIT: Least with parties that have any chance of getting an MP

Not sure about the Lib Dems old policy on Brexit but at the moment they're campaigning on challenging the Tories hard Brexit rather than stopping Brexit entirely. I think immediately after the referendum they tried to take a stance completely against Brexit but that seemed rather short-lived.

I wish I agreed with as many policies as that

I've done that quiz a few times now, and every time the percentage of policies I side with get lower, but so far it's been Liberal Democrats at the top almost the whole time.

If you look closely you can actually pinpoint the exact moment his campaign breaks in two

That's not an official campaign poster, wouldn't hold that against him.

Good luck explaining that you're against Brexit but that you won't damage the UK in anyway considering article 50 has already been announced; especially during a short quick electoral campaign. Think aiming for a soft Brexit with a view to eventually rejoin the EU down the road will be their message; though beyond Remainers and people who who now have changed their minds I can't see it preaching to the unconverted.
