Hi,
I note on the info page, it states that food and alcohol are not permitted into the arena (Understandable).
Would they allow me to take in water bottle / soft drinks?

I always take in water. Sometimes though they want you to take the lid off and bin the lid (maybe so you cant use as a missile or something?)
I just take the lid off before security and hide it in a back pocket or something so I can put it back on once inside

They're normally alright about soft drinks in plastic bottles of the size of Coke bottles. Obviously don't take the piss trying to take more than one or two in though.
And yes, expect the lid to be taken off.
There are water taps in the arena if you desperately need water.

I've one of these, which lets me easily sup on free water all day.

I find the stance on small plastic bottle lids changes from year to year.
Best to hang back and see what they're doing with the people in front of you and you can then disappear and discreetly hide your lid somewhere on your person if you need to.

Soft drinks should be okay. You may be asked to decanter them or remove bottle tops etc.
