Well, I don't think anyone saw that coming. Excellent news for me although I wonder about what kind of reception they'll get.

Wildhearts added and both Code Orange and Shvpes cancelling? That is a pretty fucking good announcement all-round I'd say.

I'd like to think a pretty good one, and they will cater their set to the heavier audience knowing them

Pop shite that should have no place at a Metal festival.

You do sometimes wonder what type of music the organisers actually like....

The Wildhearts are a brilliant replacement for me and the overwhelming majority of comments on the FB page are positive.

Has significantly improved Saturday for me.

Great announcement for me - even though I've seen them more times than any other band and seeing them in Liverpool tonight, they're at least a band on the Saturday that I'd pay to see. There been a mutual love in between Vicky and Ginger in previous years but nothings come of it, but its finally happening.

As for 'pop shite' - they have lighter stuff with big chorus's etc, but stuff like Dislocated, Suckerpunch, Nexus Icon, Destroy All Monsters, the Endless Nameless album etc are hardly Terrorvision (or Mr Big playing Cat Stevens songs..) -they've played with Napalm Death, Motorhead and have played hard rock and metal festivals for over 25years etc so can tailor a set accordingly.
She wanted nothing...and I delivered

Whilst I was gutted about Code Orange canceling, The Wildhearts is a great replacement!

While I'm hardly a fan of the Wildhearts , I'm happy the festival has managed to get a name band as a replacement. I'm impressed with it actually, it was very short notice. I'll give them a watch.

Great that Lotus Eater are playing- but Wildhearts-I thought this was a metal festival?Anyway - I'd always been a bit curious as to where some of the weird choices come from until I attended a M2M heat in the middle of nowhere some years ago and the band that went through (on the judges say so) wasn't even metal and nowhere near as good as 2 other bands that were there.

They've also just announced the last of the New Blood bands:

Friday:
Death By Ki - Thrash/Metalcore
GAIA - Progressive Metal
Xero - Progressive Rock/Alternative Metal
Midnight Prophecy - Trad

Saturday:
Grief Ritual - New Wave Blackened Hardcore (whatever that is)
Voluntas - Progressive Thrash Metal
Empire Warning - Groove Metal
Voidlurker - Doom
Stormcast - Melodic/Atmospheric Death Metal

Sunday:
Fractions - Metalcore/Progressive Metal
LEADROBOT - Industrial Groove Metal

The only one I know is Midnight Prophecy, who are worth a watch if nothing else is on. Voidlurker, Stormcast and everything describing itself as Progressive also trigger my interest.
