Met Office has yellow warning for rain on Friday and yellow warning for wind on Saturday- think I’ll be bringing extra tent pegs.

Beeb forecast has improved significantly since yesterday. Less rain, thunder and wind over the weekend. Still classed as breezy with showers but nowhere near as bad.

I'm a bit worried at the blanket rain/storms on Friday and high winds on Saturday to be honest. Hopefully it's not that bad in the end.

I just hope they're right that the wind doesn't start 'til Friday - putting up a tent in 30mph gusts would be fun!

Maybe this time Wednesday next week I'll believe them enough to decide whether to take a coat on the coach up based on their prediction...

Websites like AccuWeather and Metcheck are businesses which give people what they're asking for i.e. day-by-day weather forecasts far in advance. The 90-day forecasts which AccuWeather provide shouldn't be taken seriously as the theoretical limit of predictability is 10 days, and even after 5 days the reliability of the forecast drops off substantially. This is why the Met Office don't give daily forecasts for more than seven days, and after two days each day has three hour intervals rather than one hour. Only pay attention to the Met Office forecasts, not AccuWeather or Metcheck.

Remember to put your tent up with the door facing away from the wind direction.

Good call. I wouldn't have thought of that. All I need to do is get my bearings tomorrow. Maybe I'll bring a compass.

Is the map standard with North at the top or would that be too easy?

The Bloodstock Map definitely does not have north at the top or indicate which direction is north. Something to request for next year I suppose.

Thinking about where I camped last year, the buses dropped us off east of where I was so I can use that as a reference point. Strong winds are expected to come from the south and south-west, so face your door to the north.

I *think* I’m right in saying that if you were to be standing on the path in the middle of Midgard, then north would be roughly towards the main stage? As a rough guide for those who don’t have a compass to hand.
