They would LOVE that, they love any attention hehe! Everytime I walk into the room Paris instantly starts jumping all over the place and does these loops where he jumps from the top shelf in the cage onto the roof and jumps backwards back down to the shelf as if to say "LOOK AT MEEEEEEE!!!"

(I'm torn between giggles and horror as the silly rocsoc have probably paid far too much for this...)

Err... they are aware of how much their booking agent charges aren't they? :|

The fee is so high most regular venues wont touch them... let alone a rock soc.

Incorrect. Last time I checked, our standard fee was 3.5k euros. That is pretty fucking low compared to what a lot of "big name" bands charge, who draw much smaller crowds than us.. If it was any lower, every random wee crappy venue in the country would book us... we know all too well what happens when a band plays hundreds of thousands of gigs; everyone gets bored. We much prefer playing tours, it's more fun. I'm not meaning to come across as a sellout asshole here, just stating the facts.

Though, if you have the right contacts and you're not a dick, we play for free :).

That's what I meant. Regular venues tend to be wee and most crappy. But then grotty little venues is what I'm used to. :(

If Aber Roc Soc has 3.5k euros to spare though more power to them!

I actually know what the sum paid is and it's actually not so bad. it's a lot for a small rock society, but I guess not having anything else on all year means they have it. Sadly, we probably do come under "crappy wee venue"... Last year the headliner slot was Obsessive Compulsive, who were somewhere on the unsigned at Bloodstock this year. It's a big leap but hey, they wanted to do it.

Interesting facts: the amounts quoted to rocsoc for the other professional bands they approached were as follows: Paradise Lost wanted £4000, Jorn Lande €3500 and sadly there was no reply from the band the guy really wanted (and I would've loved).

What made me lol last night was the fact that no one wants to go on rocsoc committee next year, and my two mates are currently running for President and PR uncontested. (They'll be dealing with you guys *points up to Chris* on the day actually.) The lol moment was at half one, when Phil went "FUCK. I'm running for President. FUCK. WHO LET ME DO THAT?"

clare-l, I don't know if you've had them before but there is great metal band almost right on your doorstep in Machynlleth - Tor Marrock.

http://www.myspace.com/tormarrock

One of the best live bands I have EVER seen. I promise you they will put on a fantasic show and will hardly charge a thing to play.

Found this as a review on Play.Com about the new Wolf-Ravenous Album!

After a cracking review in kerrang i thought i would give this a go as it promised to be good.after about track 5 i was losing interest.if you like bands like firewind then you will enjoy this.i was counting on it being really heavy.disappointed.

I Feel like contacting him and pointing out his 2 mistakes

1) Buying albums Based on Reviews
2) Buying Kerrang
