She is currently boring me with details of who cannot sit with who (she'll have a bit of a shock when she realises that half the people she is mentioning are distant relatives who I haven't seen for years and hence will not be getting an invite).
my mum's the same. anyone would think it was her who was getting married! she's insisting on a sit down meal (and offered to pay for it). only problem being OH has 5 aunts/uncles on both sides of his family. they are all married with at least 2 kids (although most are now adults and have partners of their own). hes also including his step brothers and sisters from both sides, with partners. thats resulted in over 50 people not including friends or my side of family. and as she doesnt know his family and who doesnt get along with who its down to me to sort a seating plan. add to that some of his family are muslims others ar veggy, so there needs to be a menu that accomodates all.
our original idea was a hot buffet and no seating plans so people could easily avoid each other and there wasnt as much hassle organising it.
ive found just agreeing and letting her get on with it is the best option, or getting my dad to sort her if she goes way over the top.
atm shes phoning me every day asking if baby's arrived yet, asthough we wouldnt have called her if it had. he's not even due till sat. accordingly its my fault he's not here yet as im not active enough and need to go for long walks and walk up and down stairs. in the same sentence she goes on to tell me how all us kids were 2wks overdue for her and she had to be induced, and she walked everywhere so i figure its not gonna work!
