He also directed the original BBC series...and Vertical Limit :? I'm looking forward to seeing it at some point this week.

Went to blockbuster and hired 4 blu-rays yesterday:

Bolt: Saw it at the cinema in 3D but the missus didn't. Sure it's a kids film, but pretty enjoyable all the same.

In The Loop: Quite funny. Quite late by the time got around to watching it, so was starting to flag and I feel I didn't absorb it as much as I should. Will try and watch it again before returning it, but i enjoyed it.

Perfect Getaway: Predictable, but much better than I expected.

Public Enemies: Disappointing :( Didn't grab me as much I expected. It's well made, well acted, but I just can't get into it.

Just seen Edge Of Darkess

Great performance from Mel Gibson, but this film is very story driven, a slow burner so to speak, still a very good film

8/10

i finally took a leap and watched Quantum of Solice. one part of me as a film graduate says this film was really shit. the side of me that is a die hrd bond fan says this film was incredibly shit.

it was even worse than Casino Royale. i cant believe the people who own bond are letting them release this turd. i mean it had no storyline, the action scenes wer eout of place and had no relation to what little story they were trying to make and wtf is up witht he beginning sequence with the car chase. i had to watch it twice cas i thought i blacked out and missed something, and i didnt. why the fuck is that there? and wtf is up with the big climactic boss scene where the whole seems to have bottles of nitrogen just lying about for decoration. this film was a waste of my time, so glad i didnt buy it. Daniel Craig is a terrible actor and has ruined Bond for me.

I think you're in a minority as Daniel Craig is playing Bond as Flemming wrote him, when it comes to Bond movies I try not to analyse the movie, just enjoy a dumb action movie, if i want epic i'll watch Kingdom of Heaven or Gladiator

Quantum is no masterpiece but it's definately better than Die Another Day

i agree with you completely about quantum of solace being shitty, but casino royale was much better than any of the other bond movies i've seen (though keep in mind that i've only seen the ones with pierce brosnan).

There hasn't been a good Bond film since Licence to Kill.

Casino Royale was boring as fuck and seriously badly written (When you involuntarily cringe at a line spoken by Dame Judi, you can rest assured it's not because of her acting). I like Daniel Craig but the material he had to work with was borderline amateurish.
I'm bond and I'm mean.
I'm Bond and I'm tough.
I'm Bond and I kill people in cold blood.
I'm Bond and I can take being beaten around the nads with a knotted rope.
I'm Bond and my girlfriend made me cry. Waaaaaahh!

Quantum of Bollocks was even worse. One CGI'd stunt after another with a wafer thin plot stretched out to the point where it barely even made sense and the most useless villain since Jonathan Pryce in Tomorrow Never Dies.

Who needs Bond when you've got Liam Neeson in Taken?
