You're right, Hannah's with me for my vast earning capability.

Glad you've sussed that early on, dear

In all seriousness though, I hate sweeping generalisations like this - in the same way I hate it when women go off on a "all men are lying cheating scumbags" because of one bad experience.

Its just a tad narrow-minded

To be fair, I think that most men are lying cheating scumbags. And most women are equally bad. And proceeding with the assumption that most people are scum, it's a lot better when you manage to find someone who isn't. Then again, this is me being single. I tend to be a lot more optimistic about things when I'm not

Since this is the right thread though, I guess it's worth mentioning that this is probably the first time I've felt comfortable being single, without majorly pursuing anyone. I mean, there's a girl on my course I like, and would like to ask out or something, but if I don't, I'm not too bothered. All is well :)

Hmm, to be fair, me trying to see the good in most people does tend to catch me out rather nastily sometimes, so I could be a bit too optimistic

I think the most balanced view is recognising that 95% of people are not worth your time. Keeps you realistic, with a bit of optimism thrown in for flavour. :D

Slapping a figure or blanketing your view will make people react to you in the way you expect them.

Everyone is different, but everyone has the same basic traits. Knowing where people can be different and knowing basic human instincts will make you a person which is easier to get along with.

For example, knowing that humans love to reciprocate by nature is paramount to building rapport with someone. Which is why many salesmen offer freebies in the hope that you'll reciprocate with a sale.

Shifting back to relationships, treat everyone as a blank canvas when you first meet them, and give them the opportunity to present how they wish to be perceived. That way, if you want (or need) to get along with this person you can adjust your mannerisms or viewpoints to match that persons and possibly get somewhere.

If that seems false (it can be if you're after a relationship with someone, otherwise it's pretty much the only way to get along with someone that you'd rather not, but need to for whatever reason) then your only option is to ensure that you treat people the way you would like to be treated yourself.

Before this turns into a long post, in short - If you put a blanket over what most people are like then that's more a representation of yourself as a person rather than your views of other people.

Both can be equally as kinky and enjoyable ;)

I've realised recently just how opposite me and the OH can be. In no way am I saying it's a bad thing (opposites attract and all? :eyes:) it's just something that I've been noticing in the last few months, whereas before I had not!

That's what John Terry's wife keeps telling herself.
Is no longer using this forum. Adios, off to pastures new with some "grown ups" and less egos :)
