The ex used to get Metal Hammer and Kerrang every month, so I'd occasionally flick through Metal Hammer if they were interviewing someone I liked.
Can't actually remember the last time I bought a music magasine though.

I don' bother. Blogspots provide me with the research material I need these days
If it sounds good, listen to it

I quite enjoy Powerplay when I can find it and I always have a flick over my Dad's Classic Rock and Fireworks when he's done with them.

I don't bother. If I want a magazine, I'll spend a few quid less and buy Guitar Techniques and learn some new exercises.

Re: Metal magazines - PLEASE ANSWER!!!!
I subscribe to Metal Hammer, mostly for the CD. It does run some good features every now again as well, but is definitely skewed towards the mainstream, for the most part. I tend to pick up Terrorizer as well, mainly for the better standard of journalism and because it covers bands that MH won't.
Zero Tolerance is painful to read, so I tend to avoid it. Powerplay unfortunately reads like a fanzine, and that puts me right off. Classic Rock I've only just discovered, and it's good. Which must mean I'm getting old.

Most "metal" magazines don't cover many of the bands I like
I recommend Zero Tolerance, they seem to cover lots of underground bands and stuff

Metal Hammer for me. I think the coverage is enough, covering both overground and underground reasonably well and it's a more enjoyable read than Terrorizer and Zero Tolerance.

How does it score in the "Wombling Free" category?
