A lot of people call me Fjar in real life anyway. Apart from people at uni, to whom I introduced myself as Charlotte or Charley, since Fjar would have been a bit odd.

Any variation of the piss-weak copyright cop-out is pretty amusing to be fair.

Yup, I think we met in Lancaster. And there are many variants of Fjar, including Fjoreskin, coined by someone who was mouthing off at me, which made me laugh.

it always makes me laugh when alternative types come into New Look, because they're clearly not expecting a massive goth in the fitting rooms and it always throws them

The thing is, its no more a legal cop out than leaving a note in someone's house reading "no burglary intended".

If you're not making any money off it then it's legal isn't it? There was a time when YouTube would randomly take down music and then put them back up again if you appealed by copy-pasting whatever fair use law the USA has and sending them it.

It would be legal under Creative Commons, but no label would ever make any money that way. It's stuff like public exhibition, broadcast unless you're associated with the PRS.

Re: What made you Lol Today?
Generally if you distribute copyrighted material to an indefinite number of people over the internet with no permission from the rights owner, then yeah, that's an infringement.
Non-profit only really applies for personal use. Read the back of any CD and it'll say something along the lines of 'lending, public performance, hiring, broadcasting and copying prohibited'. Fair use can apply if a song is used in part, such as to enhance a scene in an amateur film etc. but uploading an entire song for the sole purpose of listening in no way applies to that.
Youtube have made deals with some record labels, so it can be okay. But writing 'no copyright infringement intended' in the description is neither here nor there in that case.

Some unfortunate news....
...if we ever meet and I happen to be drunk then that will probably now be the name you get called
