MIDNIGHT MOVIEAn assorted selection of crumpet and idiots, plus a cop, a doctor and the obligatory annoying kid, get supernaturally locked inside a cinema as it shows a movie directed by a brutal psychopath. Unlike any normal movie though, this one shifts from its normal third person subject matter (a black and white film that seems to be a remake of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre) to a first person stalk and slash on the cinema screen whenever the killer spots a new victim inside the cinema.
A decent idea but lacks any real scares and the acting ranges from poor to painful, but the killer's weapon (a sort of oversized, razor sharp spiralled corkscrew) is actually quite effective, even if the killer himself isn't even remotely interesting or original. Some nice gore scenes help, but unfortunately doesn't cover up the film's many, many shortcomings in every other area.
