Over the top futuristic dystopian future with love interest sub plot? All over it.

I have to say, that looks brilliant

 I saw the trailer and I was like "Andy is going to love this"

its look s really aweful and is obviously an Andy film, but its quite an interesting concept and i would be interested to see the film based on the whole time thing.

MIDNIGHT MOVIE

Image

An assorted selection of crumpet and idiots, plus a cop, a doctor and the obligatory annoying kid, get supernaturally locked inside a cinema as it shows a movie directed by a brutal psychopath. Unlike any normal movie though, this one shifts from its normal third person subject matter (a black and white film that seems to be a remake of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre) to a first person stalk and slash on the cinema screen whenever the killer spots a new victim inside the cinema.

A decent idea but lacks any real scares and the acting ranges from poor to painful, but the killer's weapon (a sort of oversized, razor sharp spiralled corkscrew) is actually quite effective, even if the killer himself isn't even remotely interesting or original. Some nice gore scenes help, but unfortunately doesn't cover up the film's many, many shortcomings in every other area.

4/10

Man Thing - a b-movie take on a relatively unknown part of Marvel's catalogue. so, cue 30-something woman, with massive fake pretending to be 18 and heavy amounts of blood. so a basic attempt at a horror. we then move swiftly onto the not very subtle drop of a love interest, the fat texan, the strange indian and the strange indian's water. cue bad CGI, more squirter gun blood effects, and we get to the 'oil company bad, love planet earth' enviornmental story. has the potential to be good but suffers bad casting, bad plot, bad direction and bad CGI. not aweful but ive seen worse. 4/10

Recently watched:

Lincoln Lawyer - Good stuff. I'm a fan of the books and wasn't disappointed 8/10
Animal Kingdon - 'The Austrailian Goodfellas' says the blurb, which is a bit unfair but a decent flick 8/10
Lake Placid 3: Can't remember putting this on my Blockbuster List, but watched it anyway, It's dreadful in nearly all departments. 2/10

Thats what earned the 'nearly' - particularly as it was right at the beginning - Shot it's bolt far too early
