I always get the feeling like I should watch his videos but they're fucking 30 minutes long.

Such a fucking ballache.

Going by the aforementioned Space Marine video, you may as well go raid LParchive and pick a random game you actually want to see.

If the game is boring then it can be, aye. But I discovered the guy by watching a 30 minute video of him playing Frozen Synapse and I was captivated and had to get the game as soon as possible (with the aid of Alex :)). So I suppose your interest in a particular video is relative to your interest in the game in question.

played through the space marine demo again and actually got the hang of the combat properly this time. i enjoyed it a lot more, felt like the mix of melee and shooting was more fluid once i got used to it.

NFS Most Wanted is about all I can remember from my 11 year old self. Running from cops in a pearlescent green Dodge Viper made me feel all gangster n' shit.

So, a trawl through Amazon's PC games under £5 has resulted in purchases of:

Burnout Paradise
Mass Effect
Dead Space
Assassin's Creed
Supreme Commander
STALKER: Call of Pripyat

After the demo it went from a certain release day purchase to a possibly might buy it when it's on sale pre-owned for a tenner purchase. Possibly.

I really want to like Space Marine, but for every good point something else bad seems to counter it.

Oh well, if it's not well received it will be £10 on the PC in 2-3 months & I'll buy it then.

its really not "dogshit" its easily as good as the first one, the only problem and yes i do mean the ONLY one is that its far too short. still worth a couple of playthroughs though
