Thankfully I started in the Autumn but I just didn't fit in ever. I'm not too bad now, still have a severe lack of confidence but I'm learning to fake it when I meet new people.

There's a lot to be said for that approach. I do this, and end up chatting lots and lots at 90 miles an hour because I'm really quite shy

I've never been bullied, but I know people who were, I've seen the effects of it. I've always been pretty quiet, especially in school, and had brightly coloured hair etc, but people still liked me, which is probably strange. Ive had more instances as an adult and looking non metal, than I did in school. Probably because I study in Coventry.

bullying is digusting, and should not be tolerated. I still here tales from people now taking abuse, and from past experiences makes me sick.

My brother introduced me to metal when I was 11 or 12, so I don't think it had any connection to me being bullied at the time - I'd definitely say listening to various songs and doing some vicious PvP helps me deal with moments where I find myself too angry to have a rant.

Also, I think Jamie does have a point in a way - people are either bullied, or bullies. Atleast in most cases, thinking back at how my school worked. One of the things I also hated was people who were too afraid to stand up for others - I've managed to get into a lot of trouble for standing up for friends or just random people, but I think it's really important to show that it's just not acceptable.

Mine too. There were very few people in the middle who fitted into neither character. VERY few indeed. Those of us who would stick up for others just wound up in deeper problems ourselves.

However, in a positive light it's all experience which you learn from. It sounds like a gloss over when people say "you'll come out the other side of this stronger", but it's usually true. Wiser, too.

There's that I suppose I was meaning more in a general sense though. Bullying's horrible, there's no two ways about it, but if you are a stronger person from it, then it's just a different way to look at it rather than dwelling on how horrible it was.

I'd like to think I'd be a much stronger person if I didn't have a bunch of pricks trying to drag me down all the time. Strength through adversity and all that bollocks is all well and good until you finally realise that those arseholes still dragged you down and you would have been happier in the long run without them casting a negative cloud over your life.

You probably won't believe this, but I am a Ginger who was never particularly bullied! I was also fat. Having big friends and a rapist wit helps I guess, but yeah. Never been beaten up by a bully and never teased beyond the kind of thing anyone might get.

I did actually hit some guy who was two years older than me (I was 13, he was 15) - he threw two snowballs at me because I told him to leave my friend Johan alone. One hit my face, and so I charged at him and punched him in the stomach - he pushed me over, so I walked away and sat back down, and all his friends came over and sat down with me and told me I did a good thing

Can't remember much from my school in terms of bullying, so that's a good sign. Or it was just that bad I've buried it deep inside me. I doubt that though, I am pretty awesome tbf.

I was never bullied at school, aside from the odd comment from strangers about me having red hair and a girl who seemed to enjoy telling people I was a lesbian. I definitely didn't bully anyone either though, so that can't always be the case.
