I'd rather throw in my two cents about life experiences than spending 10 pages discussing some first world problem. Believe it or not, it's actually quite healthy to get it out there. It's a shame some people are "too cool for school" to talk about these things though, but I think it's a case of hiding behind an attitude instead of confessing that you possess human feelings.

Perhaps I'm just quite old school in my forum ways but I prefer threads to be kept on topic. If you come to this thread then surely you expect to see photos instead. Most other forums I go on you will be warned by mods about continually posting off topic and to take it to PM or create a new thread, especially in gallery threads. Perhaps I'm wrong here.

It's not that anyone is "too cool for school" to talk about it. Perhaps they just don't want to talk about it on an internet forum with people they don't know. You pop into a thread to have a nosey at people's photos and end up flicking through pages of posts unrelated to the topic. That isn't meant to sound nasty because I'm very well aware of bullying. If it really needs be thrown out there I was bullied for from the age of 6 through to 16 at school. Some pretty disgusting and vulgar things happened to me from a very young age through bullying that most people on here would be horrified by. I just don't want to tell people about it and have those I don't know write their reactions to it. I have a lot of respect for people voicing their experiences and it saddens me that others have gone through it, but I don't feel this particular thread is the place for talking about it in such length. Some comments made here that you are either bullied or are the bully are completely and utterly false, many people not bullied and not bullies probably can't relate to the posts about it even if they feel for those people who have written them.

Considering that BOA supports the Sophie Lancaster foundation, I don't think it's much of a terrible thing for patrons of the festival to discuss bullying. It's just unlucky that such a topic arose in an unlikely thread. Arseiness is not required. Move along.

Seems a lot of folk on here have had trouble with bullies.
Small thought, reckon there's a correlation between being bullied/feeling like an outcast etc and taking an interest in metal and the alternative scene as a result?

Correlation does not imply a cause!!!

Yeah, i'd say for some it's a cause but for others it's just something that comes with being someone who doesn't follow the same way of thinking and may prefer something like metal because it's more complex than the norm music wise

To Bum, the bloodstock forum is hardly one for staying on topic, last year every second thread had a pokemon discussion in it, and in all honesty, I think the majority of the folk here prefer a more flexible forum than one where you have to stay on topic all the time and enjoy the freedom of it being a general "community" discussion , especially in the "off-topic" section of the forum

The you either got bullied or you were a bully thing didn't make much sense to me either, I can quite happily say that I have never bullied anyone, nor any of my friends or family who weren't picked on at school are bullies either Maybe we were just all too cool for school.

Either way, take my posts with a satyrical pinch of salt, I mean not to belittle anyone's posts, especially serious ones like these. I was just merely poking fun that this forum does seem to turn into a group therapy session sometimes.
