I always try and avoid posting negative things on this forum but this cock up sums it all up for me.
Every European festival announces their stage times weeks, often months in advance.
Yet Download and bloodstock insist on doing it a few days before and on a bloody app that doesn’t work. I don’t want a Bloodstock app, I just want the stage times to be posted on the website like every other festival.

So it would appear that having to 'favourite' a band is no longer necessary. You can just click on each one individually to see the times.

Not ideal and a bit laborious but still, managed to work out my own schedule.

Only clash for me is Wildhearts and Helheim. I would have watched Helheim out of curiosity but I'm not missing the Wildhearts for them.

Everything else works out fine apart from the fact we'll probably get there too late to catch Death Angel.

Times have worked out better for me as it means I'm only down to 1 full on clash, shame it's 2 bands of the same genre which is annoying.

Disappointing start to next year only Dark Tranquility for me. The rest Meh

No great enthusiasm for it from the crowd either
Television is the opium of the people

For an announcement that is a whole year in advance that's meant to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Bloodstock, that was a massively underwhelming start.

Vio-lence is a rarity and Sacred Reich have been heavily requested for several years so I get why those two are worth announcing this far in advance but the rest are just a massive pile of meh.

And to big it up as the 20th anniversary and not announce 1 band that is remotely connected to the roots of the festival feels like a slap in the face for long-time attendees.

What is concerning is that the biggest cheer from the crowd was in response to Skindred.
Now, this isn't a knock on Skindred per se but ffs, we should be demanding better than a band that tours the UK at least once a year. If they're the band that get the biggest reaction then it hardly encourages the organisers to try very hard

In my experience most music fans would be happy to see the same 3 bands in concert each year ad infinitum, most people aren't involved enough in the scene to get excited over anything else.

A few negative responses to the announcement. But imo its a good start, sacred teich has been asked for a lot an dthe others sound OK altho I will have A better listen after the festival. I guess most negative comments about skindred are by people who didn't catch their set last time round. It was great and certainly one of the best received bands of the weekend. They will headline one year I'm sure. Plenty of time for Mercyful Fate and Saxon to be announced. And maybe Unleash the Archers....

there's several bands i would watch, but nothing that would sell me a ticket.
i don't care for Skindred's music, but at least they're entertaining.

Not a great first announcement to get me to go back. I like Skindred, but once you've seen them once, you don't need to see them again and they weren't so great the other year at BOA. I don't really care about the other bands, Dark Tranquility are OK. Read someone say that Hatebreed and Sick of it All are booked and they're expecting Killswitch Engage to headline.

If that's true then Vicky's bloodstock change is complete. I'd say hatebreed are a certain, jasta plays in some capacity every two years.....yawn.
