Children only matter if you can kill them. A bit silly, but it's immersion shattering when a toddler survives a fireball, instead of dishing out the baby back ribs.

Hopefully these cities will be massive like Vivec was supposed to be.

-Third-person view has been improved
-A total of five cities will be available – and they’ll be massive.
-No HUD option included.
-Conversations are no longer done in the zoomed perspective, and will instead unfold more naturally.
-Players can craft new weapons by visiting a weapons smithy.
-You can duel with NPCs in the middle of the street, ala the Wild West.
-The Enchanting skill makes a return, while mysticism is out.
-”Radiant Storytelling”/ Level Scaling 2.0 – The game tailors content to your capabilities and experience.
-Fast-Travel is making a comeback.
-You can now sprint.
-Dynamic Shadows confirmed
-Character models have been beefed up, with NPCs showing more emotion and improved distinction between races.
-Radiant AI is back.
-The game engine has been tweaked to accommodate effects such as trees and branches that sway independently in the wind, while snow falls in a much more realistic manner.
-10 races confirmed
-Dungeons are more unique this time around
-Finishing moves included
-Children will be featured in the game (they were conspicuously absent from Oblivion)
-Dialogue will commence when you approach a threat
-More to do in towns, such as cooking, mining, woodcutting/blacksmithing.

Oblivion graphics improved with Morrowind gameplay? This would of course make it the greatest game ever, but let's wait until E3.

Children.
Killable children?
Not even Rockstar have had the balls to do that so far.

EDIT: Googling reminds me that you can kill kids on Deus Ex. Even though it was only a decade ago, imagine the fuss that would be made if it was released today.

I like. Hopefully actually cutting down trees and shit, rather than 'opening' a rock like how it worked in the ebony mines. No minigames either please.

This first part of this sounds good, but the bolded line sounds too Oblivion-levelling like:

designate opponents that are appropriately matched to your strengths and weaknesses.

Yeah this sounds lame if its a cakewalk, but matching enemies to your weaknesses could add a lot of challenge. Still, that could be lame also. Just have some places that are harder than others, it makes sense.

The player

There are several player improvements. 3rd-person view has been improved.

Meeeeeeeeeh.
nobody uses it except for looking at their sweet lewt anyway.

Aaaarrrrgggghhhh wrote:-A total of five cities will be available – and they’ll be massive.

:D an equivalent of a bank or vault in each of those and it'll be sweeeet. Hopefully this is as well as smaller hamlets and towns.

Not a fan of these. In Reach they're disjointed and awkward and swing you from first to third person. DX:HR is going the same route. Keep them in first person, if they have to have them at all.

Erm... Ok?

Aside from that, the technical advances sound great, shadows and AI and that. Looks good too so far.

Because the industry is far bigger these days, any rumour that was comfirmed about this would cause more controversy & become public, but would also guarantee sales.

To be honest, it would cause more aggro for retail than anything. Most parents don't give a toss what they are buying for the children as long as it keeps them quiet & for the small percentage that do, most stores & staff have to inform & will be strict on selling if in doubt.

"Can't say we didn't warn you" or a more customer friendly approach would be used if any problems occurred.

Big plus for me on the other hand as I always used to switch to 3rd person when travelling anywhere in Oblivion that was more than 20ft.

Work reasonably well in The Witcher, with refinement & if they can speed the system up it might be good.

If the view has improved it may be more practical for combat, and it's always handy if you're surrounded or travelling a long way and just want to check out your pimpin'-ness while you walk.

On that note, a pimp walk mode would be just as welcome as the sprint button.

I'm sure that it'll be used quite frequently once the first naked female body mods come out.

I'm guessing. :eyes:

Keep that thought until the game is released and suggest it to the modding community, that would be a whole different kind of epic xD
