Yeah, if I'm having to defend myself against ad hominem attacks as much as what I'm discussing it sometimes becomes difficult to separate the two, especially when there's multiple replies to me every time I post

Ignore the ad hominems and get on with your discussions. It's really easy.

I can understand why you'd say that, but when you have so many people trying to have a jibe at you in any way they can it does become quite grating. These days I've obviously got better at doing what you suggested, but it is a thing that's often easier said than done.

Not everyone fancies a debate every week or two, and when it's about the same sort of subject, people will start to take the piss. Mainly because you're extremely tiring to debate against.

Just out of interest, are you part of a debating team/club/society?

It was a steep learning curve and there are some points missing from this discussion because different methods give different results and you need to consider the optimal one for yourself. I'm half tempted to write a mini tutorial for doing so. As people have alluded to already, listing them on this forum first would yield much better margins. It's not a 'get rich quick' plan, you'd be surprised how bad the ratio of 'effort : productivity' actually is.

Yeah this was one of the reasons I decided against it, plus I like my collection too much

I wonder if any one can help me

I need to make a graph of sorts, but I don't know how to go about it.

basically along the bottom needs to be from 20Hz - 20,000Hz and on the vertical axis needs to be the number of times a problem frequency occurs at that frequency.

so for example 35, 70 and 105 there's a notch because they appear in the length of the axial mode, but let's say 70Hz also appeared in a tangential mode in the width or something. The graph might look like this.

basically so I can look at it and instantly identify the problem frequencies, and the clusters of frequencies that will be an issue.

It seems like it shouldn't be hard to do, but I don't know how I'd go about it.

I just thought that actually.
Though I'm not sure how I'm going to include a graph with 20,000 different things in a report without running out of paper

I guess I can use it to identify, and then make a smaller version with only the areas I'm interested in.

Do a line graph.

And a separate list of top 5 problem frequencies.

EDIT: Actually, how are you capturing the data in the first place?

http://www.marktaw.com/recording/Acoust ... Calcu.html

once you enter the dimensions and calculate, that gives a list of problem frequencies up to a point, though we have another calculator to work it out further.

we have done an experiment to prove that the standing waves that are predicted are actually there. So this is for treatment now. we have to identify bands of problem frequency and use a different sort of acoustical treatment to sort that particular area.

but given it's an addition of the fundamental every time, I figure I can use excel to work out what it will be all the way up to 20,000

I don't really know how to go about doing a line graph, don't suppose there's any useful online guides you know of that would fit this sort of scenario?

No idea tbh :S

But don't worry about how many rows excel can support, think it's 65k, and columns up to ZZ (676 I think)...
