Glad to see Jinjer on the bill!
Re: Next announcement
Vicky tweeted that she's booked the third headliner a couple of days ago. Was hoping for Avatar and the lack of announcement was because they were waiting til after the tour but if they weren't booked then it could be anyone.

I know they have grown over the years, but are they big enough to headline? I wouldn't have thought so
Television is the opium of the people

Re: Next announcement
No way are they that big. Shocked the third headliner wasn't locked in months ago to be honest.

Re: Next announcement
I see on Facebook Vicky mentioned it isn't Trivium. Many weren't upset....
Re: Next announcement
Just checked in to see if the lineup was any good (gave this year a miss, didn't fancy catching COVID / drinking water from outside the toilets again) - Not a thrash / -core / comedy-vomit man, but I do want to see Mercyful Fate - might have to be a day ticket job !
Any rumours out there for other bands ?
The 'we're listening to Trivium today in the office' was the first thing I've seen from them for a while (deleted facebook) - the wailing and gnashing of teeth penetrated even to the real world

Re: Next announcement
Speaking as someone who actually quite likes Trivium's output since 'In Waves' in 2011 when Matt Heafy started incorporating better clean vocals (didn't like them before that), I still don't think they should headline.
When they played in 2015 it was the smallest crowd I've ever seen for a BOA headliner - just droves of people going back to the campsite; quite frankly it was embarrassing. The BOA audience clearly rejected them en masse then, and I can't imagine why it would be any different this time around.
There are plenty of bands I would like to see live but you've gotta recognise when something works for a particular festival, and when it just doesn't.

Re: Next announcement
I've never minded Trivium musically - I was about the right age to be a fan when they first broke through, and they are pretty inoffensive. That said, every time I've seen them they've just been bad live, no charisma whatsoever. So I'm glad its not them.

Re: Next announcement
They've already got a last few decades "don't call it nu-metal" band Lamb of God on Sunday and a classic 80's dark realm band Mercyful Fate for Saturday.
Friday night should be more in the heavy metal genre. I know it's not possible to get Metal Church or Trouble but something along those lines would be nice.

Re: Next announcement
Or Deep Purple. Can we get Deep Purple?
Or, since I'm throwing out ideas for a Friday headliner, let's go for the gusto:
Motley Crue
Venom Inc followed by Venom
Rob Halford with Fight (can we get a reunion please)
Metallica
Iron Maiden
KK's Priest
Manowar
Rammstein
Onkel Tom/Sodom double set

Woke up with Stephen playing in my head and remembering my father who passed away this year. So I'll be cool with Alice Cooper.

Re: Next announcement
Cooper and deep purple are touring before and after respectively. I would assume that makes them less likely.
Still, I'd be happy with either.
Another runaround with Megadeth is probably more likely.
